Snowdonia National Park

April 2026

We started in the sun, a steady climb with clear views ahead.

A few kilometres in, it shifted. The wind picked up first, then the rain, and before long it was hail, coming in sideways, sharp enough to sting. The path slowed, stopping every so often just to hold position as the gusts came through.

Not far from the summit, we turned back. The weather had properly set in by then, strong enough that things were being pulled straight off people’s backs. By the time we made our way down, we were soaked through, covered in hail and snow.
